Here is the view from the nursery door.
This is the view from the closet
This is our amazingly comfortable and soft brown recliner and ottoman! It swivels AND rocks :) The side table is actually a bird bath I found at Tuesday Morning for $17...it is perfect for the "wish" lamp mom and I found at World Market and a cup of water for when we are rocking Julia.
Here is the crib and bedding. I forgot to take a picture inside the crib but the sheet is yellow polka dots and inside the crib I have put two SWEET stuffed animals that poppy and dotdot bought for Julia while they were in CA last weekend! The painting is a product of my mom and I. The wicker tower was a curb find in our neighborhood that I repainted.
Our WONDERFUL bachelors chest that we had been waiting to receive! This will be the clothing and diaper changing area for little miss.
This was a little piece of "artwork" that I wanted to make for Julia. Hebrews 12:1-2 has been a continual prayer for Julia over the last 4 months. I wanted her to be aware that her heritage is rooted in the Lord and that our desire is for her to know Him as well. So I surrounded these precious words with pictures of her family. It will also be great to show her these pictures so that she will always know the people in her family.....even if we aren't able to be as locationally close to them as we would like.
the girl has clothes...what can I say, she is my child :) everything hanging is either a coat or dress and the baskets include onesies, sleepers, shirts, pants, ect.
closet #2 holds all her diapers (that will soon disappear), extra towels and sheets, shoes and headbands/hats!
Here is a pictures of the mobile I had been working on for a while. It was a bit more time consuming than I had originally anticipated but I think it turned out really well!
Rugs are hard to come by, but this rug I found at Tuesday Morning for a GREAT price and thought it would look wonderful in the room as well!!
Andrew and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of Julia's nursery...we are simply thrilled it is complete! It is actually one of our favorite rooms in the house now...yesterday we just sat in there for an hour or so enjoying the peace and quiet :).
It has been a very busy month for our little family! We have been going to childbirth classes, bible study fellowship, growth groups with our church, work, and trying to get things finished for the big day. Which I hope explains my lack of blogging... The weather here in CA is beginning to cool down....although last week there were a few 90 degree weather days that nearly killed me! We actually had a rainy/cloudy weekend this weekend! I LOVED IT! It was as if CA was giving us a little fall! I never realized how much I enjoyed the occasional cloudy day until I moved to a place that was sunny nearly every day of the year!
I have also been trying some new cooking recipes here and there. I am trying to make some of our favorite casseroles and freeze them for when we don't have the time or energy to cook when Julia comes home. I have a list of possible dinner ideas that don't take much effort or time either....hopefully it will all work out. This weekend we made Pumpkin muffins which were easy and SUPER delicious....All I used was a box of Spice Cake mix, one can of pumpkin, 1/2 cup of applesauce, and a some chopped pecans....mixed it together, baked it for around 20 minutes and they came out tasting wonderful! I also added a brown sugar/oatmeal topping to make them a little "prettier"! Yesterday we tried two new recipes and will definitely be making both of them when Julia arrives! For lunch we had avacado egg salad sandwiches (a pinterest recipe) and for dinner we ate Paula Deen's Crockpot potato soup! YUMMY!!! We loved them...and still are loving it since the leftovers are calling our names again for tonight!Tonight we go to our final childbirth class....I'm so sad to be finished with this class. We have learned so much about what to expect during labor and how to effectively manage pain! I have no doubt that Andrew will be a great coach for me...i'm not sure how great of a student I'll be for him though when the going gets tough :) He will have his hands full for sure! We have only a few weeks left until Julia's due date! Wonder if I will make it or if she will take her sweet time!!!
