Why is it that no one wrote a book called "Twas the Night Before School"! Seriously, I think it would be a great book! Especially as I have been with Andrew today and he has been freaking out over his final German class! Now, to his credit this class will be especially hard, but I am confident that he will make it through! C'mon what is college without a final hard class!? But please as it is brought to your mind, pray for Andrew as he prepares to take on the world of being a student. Andrew is waking up tomorrow at 4:00 am to get ready for the day. He opens at Starbucks at 5:45, has class at 9:30 then goes back to Starbucks til 4:30. Needless to say this is a busy schedule for him and it will very trying! I KNOW that there is NO way I could do it.
This weekend I rediscovered my love for cooking. It has probably become my new hobby. I love to create things and for me creating beautifully flavored meals is a great art. I once heard that if you work with your hands you should sabbath with your head and if you work with your head you should sabbath with your hands. I'm not sure which one it is that my work requires of me (its really just much of both), but I do know that I find great rest and relaxation in cooking and baking. This weekend we made Summer Squash and Corn Chowder, yummy Banana Bread, good ole Hamburgers and Corn on the Cob, and a Sweet and Spicy Snack Mix. I'm not all that creative and daring when it comes to my cooking, I just love the simplicity of making things....but one of these days I will embark on a journey of unexpected goodness that one's taste buds can't even imagine! :)
