yums!

Thought I would post a few yummy recipes A and I have liked! Enjoy!

Spicy Italian Beef Sandwiches
Word to all spicy food lovers...this is the recipe for YOU! Actually, it doesn't have to be for spicy lovers only because you can adjust the spice level easily! This recipe was a great find for the summer! It would be wonderful paired with a tomato salad and chips! It was easy and made a lot...which is good when you have a husband that likes to eat and needs lots of calories :)! We will definitely be making this again for dinner...probably when we have some guys over for dinner....this recipe is too good to not share with others!

Ingredients
3 lb beef chuck roast
3 (1 ounce) packages dry Italian dressing mix
1 cup water
16 ounce jar pepperocini peppers
8 hoagie buns, toasted

Instructions:
Put roast in crockpot. Add dressing mix and pour in water. Cook on high for 6-7 hours. During the last hour take a fork and shred the meat, and add the peppers and juice...the more you add the hotter it will be. If it doesn't shred easily, cook longer. Serve with the juice on the side for dipping. (We also topped this with some melted hot pepper jack cheese. )

Andrew's Grunt Bars
Several of ya'll have asked about the "grunt" bars I make Andrew. He LOVES them...not sure if we are saving money by making them, but it is the one thing that he really likes and since I have the time then why not make it for him! They are way to many calories for me to try, so I will take his word for them! :)

Ingredients
1 cup honey
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup Special K cereal
1/2 cup shredded coconut
4 scoops Isopure whey protein isolate
dried cranberries, toffee chips, chocolate chips, almonds (optional)

Directions
Mix together in a large mixing bowl the cereal, coconut, protein powder, and any optional items. Set aside.

On medium heat mix the honey, corn syrup, and brown sugar together- stirring constantly to prevent burning. Bring to a rolling boil and boil 1 minute. Then mix peanut butter. Continue stirring until boiling and boil 1 minute more.

Immediately pour hot mixture over cereal mixture and combine well. Mold into a well greased (wax paper lined)9X13 in pan, pressing down firmly.
Let cool and harden completely then dump out onto cutting board and cut into 1.5 X 4 in bars. Wrap each bar in plastic wrap and store. Makes 15-18 bars.
