In May, Andrew and I celebrated our two year wedding anniversary! It is still hard to believe that 2 years have come and gone! We got married May 28, 2010 and on May 28, 2012 my brother Justin married his sweet fiance Hope Lofton in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Due to some work related issues Andrew and I were not able to both attend the wedding, but A was so great to let me celebrate with my brother his special day. Here are some pictures from the trip...it was a beautiful island!
(I love this picture....such joy for all the quirks that can happen on a wedding day)
Andrew took the opportunity while I was with my family in Jamaica to visit family and friends in AR for the weekend. I'm not sure if our friends and family realize just how beneficial this was for Andrew. He had a great time being back on Arkansas soil. This is a picture of Andrew and sweet Levi Newman-it was their first time to meet! Andrew was super excited! :)
As soon as we both got back to California we joined up with our sweet and dear friends Matt and Kristie Lafon for dinner on the pier. Kristie and I are both expecting the arrival of our sweet babies in early November! It is such a blessing for me to have someone close by to talk through changes and doctor appointments. Kristie and Matt will be having a BOY, so we are all anxious to see what God has set for Andrew and I right now!
I have taken baby bump pictures every once in a while...but usually don't post them because you sure can't tell much! I decided to try on my "announcement" shirt when I was 17 almost 18 weeks along and was so excited to see the baby begin to grow from the first time I had it on! More pictures are to come for sure!
As many of you know, I have always had a love for fire pits....there is just something about them that make me smile! So Andrew and I decided that we would celebrate our 2 year anniversary by buying a fire pit and spending the evening around the fire eating pizza and roasted marshmallows! It was such a treat for both of us! The weather in San Clemente is perfect for night time fires! We had such a blast and since then have used it every weekend...
Rich and Dottie came to CA to visit Andrew and I. We had a wonderful visit! We got to watch a San Diego Padres baseball game, stroll through downtown San Clemente, watch surfers on the pier, drive to Temecula and visit some gorgeous wineries, visit Dana Point, and celebrate Rich's birthday! We loved all the time we got to spend with them and celebrate the day we get to see them again.
After driving in Temecula and seeing some of the beautiful citrus plants amongst the vineyards, Rich and Dottie decided to bless me with an early birthday gift....a dwarf Meyer Lemon tree! I can't wait to see it produce lemons! I have to remind myself that this takes time though and I should be patient :), thus in the mean time I have been on pinterest looking for all kinds of "lemon" recipes so that I will be prepared!
My MamMa gave me her sewing machine a few months ago. She was so sweet to do this because she knows I enjoy doing crafty things around the house and could learn to sew if I just put my mind to it....Well I have to admit for the first few months we had it in the house, I was TERRIFIED of the machine! I mean it just looks scary and difficult! But while Dottie was with us, she gave me a little Sewing Machine 101 class and helped me figure out this great gift! We found some beautiful fabric at a consignment store in downtown San Clemente- it was a large window curtain panel from World Market that has already led to 6 cloth napkins, 1 table runner (in the making) and a big chunk of square scraps that I am not sure what to do with just yet! I already have a list of "crafty sewing projects" that I would like to accomplish before the baby arrives! Thanks Dottie for having such patience to teach me to sew! And Thanks MamMa for blessing me with this sewing machine and knowing that I could do something I never thought would be possible!

You might enjoy a bread basket liner with the large square scrap... the fabric IS gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAunt Terri! That is a great idea! My bread basket is a dark chocolate brown and the scrap fabric would be beautiful with it! Thanks for the idea!!!
