My dad always told me that I have to be optimistic in life. This has not really been a problem for me so far in life, but I have always remembered his words when things don't always go the way I hope for them to. This has especially been the case since living in Virginia and being at the mercy of TBS. It must be said that I'm not sure anyone likes the fact that the time they are able to spend with their spouse- while enduring TBS schedules-is incredibly limited. But I have had to make the most of every opportunity... Part of Andrew's training requires him to be out in the field. Which means no contact with your spouse for about 5 days (or more). In order to hold true to my optimistic personality, I am bound determined to make the most out of these awful times away from Andrew. This last Patrol Exercise gave me the opportunity to take a road trip with my friend Kristie to CT to spend time with Sarah, Chris, Kate and Benjamin. Spending time with family is just the remedy for speeding up a long week away from Andrew. It gave me the opportunity to pray for what has been going on in VA the last few months and gain back some perspective that I was beginning to loose. Most importantly it let me be with family. Southern family. I had a blast being an aunt and sister in law. It is a blessing to have family just 6-7 hours away. I can't wait to spend more time with them! They made the week so special for me- without even knowing it. I loved living life with the Ross family!! On the way home, Kristie and I stopped in Baltimore and had a blast! It was a beautiful city!! Hoping to go back there soon!

Hydrangeas....oh how I love thee
