It was so fun having mom and dad in California for a full week! I loved every minute of them being here. We made lots of fun memories and I will treasure them forever! I know the next time I get to see them Julia will be getting to meet them for the first time, so I'm anxious for the next 11 weeks to get going! :)
What trip to Cali is not complete with out some time in the sun at the beach?
While they were in CA, Mom and Dad celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary! I'm so grateful we got to be with them! They have great wisdom that Andrew and I have learned from and we are blessed by their love and faithfulness to one another. They wanted to go to The Cheesecake Factory for their anniversary dinner and we ALL enjoyed the yummy food, conversations and laughter!
Mom and I worked on the nursery quite a bit....This is the wall canvas that we made to go over Julia's crib. We weren't sure how it was going to turn out but were VERY pleased with the outcome!! "You are my Sunshine" is a very special song between me and my dad. He sang to me as I would go to bed every night and this is the song he would always sing. As I grew up I knew that I wanted this to be a tradition I passed down to our children as well and I wanted that part of my history to be a part of Julia's new life.
We went to church Sunday together ...we all color coordinated as a family-this was unplanned so it made for some fun pictures! This is at the church Andrew and I are attending. It has a beautiful view of the city and beach area.
One of the places I had been wanting to try ever since we moved to CA was a small restaurant called "Stacks". It is a pancake house that serves breakfast and lunch. Once I told mom and dad about it they were wanting to try it as well. So before mom and I dropped dad off for a day of golf near the beach, we had breakfast at Stacks....It did NOT disappoint our expectations by any means!! I mean any place that has coconut syrup for pancakes is going to win over my stomach for sure. We tried, the Capt Crunch Mac Nut French Toast, Huevos Rancheros, and Banana Mac Nut Pancakes...yummy!
Their last night with us was a time to celebrate my birthday-the big 26! We headed to South of Nicks for drinks, dinner, and dessert. It was a WONDERFUL time! As you can see we had a blast!
Our last picture from their time in Ca. As always it was hard to see them leave....I know everyone has a "special" relationship with his/her family, but I truly believe that the close relationship I have with both my mom and dad is a blessing from the Lord and I thank Him daily for it. Andrew and I loved being with them and can't wait to see them again soon! Love you lots Nana T and Gdaddy! :)
