I am thankful that it is by faith alone, in Christ alone, by grace alone that I am saved. There is no works or merits that I could do to earn salvation. But by the gracious act of God (by God) I am forgiven and declared righteous as a sinner because of belief in Christ. This day of thanksgiving comes with MUCH humility. I pray that my understanding of God's grace would overwhelm me each day and I would graciously offer my thanks and praise to Him who is worthy!
Day 8:
As I try to put together a "Christmas list" for family and friends, I am thankful for the abundance of things God has already provided us. Too often I can get caught up in the things that I think I need, but today I'm thankful for the fact that it is hard to put together a list of gifts that Andrew and I would like to have for Christmas because it shows to me that God has already provided exactly what we need for today. May we learn and fight to be content in every circumstance.
